Civilizational Characteristics of the Egyptian Identity…and the Horizons of the Future
The Human Foundation has presented this seminar at the Alexandria International Book Fair, held on 2018, in Bibliotheca Alexandrina The seminar was presented by three members of the HF’s Assl wa Wassl team of specialists: Samah Samir, Mariam Yassein and Walaa Ali. They have presented the following reading of the underlying meaning of the Egyptian Civilization: “The Egyptian Civilization introduces to us today messages that we should make efforts to read. Our reading of this civilization’s message is possible because we are deeply connected to it through our human foundation on one hand, and on the other hand, we can see beyond what is apparent. For example, the pyramids are not just huge tombs. Rather, they represent how when humans come collectively to reach shared goals, they can do miraculous achievements. Pyramids stand today with their secret and sacred message, giving us hope that we can do the impossible. They also give us a model of integration between science, knowledge, management skills, and beliefs. As we are here in Bibliotheca Alexandrina, it is worth mentioning what role it has played in the past, and how it is connected to its role now. Bibliotheca Alexandrina was an enlightening spot in the whole area, connecting between north, south, east and west. It is now standing for cultural dialogues as a base for establishing peace among nations.”
